  A must-visit place whenever you're in Galveston! My wife was literally like a kid in a candy store when we first walked in. If you go at the right time of day you can even see a skilled La King's candy craftsman using vintage machinery to create taffy live in person (shown in photo). A little pricey, but you get what you pay for here - quality. This place has a charming Old School ice cream parlor/candy shop look and feel. They even have a working 1920's soda fountain. A nice little slice of Galveston history. A+

  It's a great candy store with delicious ice cream, popcorn, fudge, and more. It's a nice stop in downtown Galveston right next to a lot of touristy shops and the haunted house/pirate museum. It's a fun place to go after a long day on the beach before heading home or when it starts to get cooler out. They also have free taffy demonstrations about once a day where they show you how they make taffy and throw samples to the crowd. It's free fun if you get there at the right time.

  This was one of the coolest candy stores I've been to, as soon as I went through the door I felt like I was 8 again. It's great to go when they are making taffy, which might I add is delicious, specially if it's freshly made. However watch out because the master taffy maker might throw some taffy at you, which is great, just be aware of that so it doesn't hit your head instead.
